| | MOTORBOOKS BLOG | Webster describes 'etiquette' as "the rules indicating the proper and polite way to behave." I remember being at a car show where an individual was showing his 1970 Boss 302. It was a fascinating piece, adorned in the desirable Calypso Coral with a factory shaker scoop. The owner had the build sheet accurately placed on his driver's side window. While I stood afar looking at the Boss, two individuals approached and began examining under the hood. To make his point, one of the guys leaned over the fender of the Boss and began pointing down towards the rear of the motor. In a matter of seconds, I could see the owner of the Mustang beginning to turn white. Fear overcame him as he negotiated with his mind as to whether or not he should vocalize his displeasure in their lack of car show etiquette. He never did say anything and after those two moseyed off, he hastily approached his car to see if anything was scuffed, scratched or altered. Those certain nuisances can ignite a fight-or-flight mentality. After that, I became more mindful of car show etiquette. | | | Dear ASD,
