I can't help it; I look for cars when I'm driving to buy milk, while on vacation with my family, even while I'm driving to funerals! Looking for old cars is just part of my DNA, I guess.
I don't know what it is, but I seem to have a sixth sense about places where interesting old cars might be hiding. A house or a business that has old cars hidden usually has a certain look about it, and often, I can easily pick out those locations.
I've often wondered: If I were dropped off at a location where I've never been before, could I locate an interesting old car within four hours? Two hours? 30 minutes?
Could I locate an old car if I was under the gun?
In all the years I've been searching and writing about old cars, I have not met anyone else who has as keen an eye... until recently. My friend Brian Barr can pick a needle out of a haystack. Or at least a car out of a farm field. Or behind a body shop. Or sitting behind a house.
