Fun to look at, a thrill to drive. Larry Edsall, author of Corvette Stingray, explains how the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is a great vehicle, on and off the track. You want fast? Check these numbers: - 0-60 miles per hour in 3.8 seconds
- a quarter-mile spring in 12 seconds, topping out at nearly 120 miles per hour
- 60-0 stopping within 107 feet
- cornering grip of 1.03g (and Juechter notes that this figure may get even better based on additional testing before the official start of production)
"More power and fuel economy: 460 hp / 465 lb-ft of torque, represents a 6 percent gain in output," the redefinition of the refinement continues. And yet, despite offering so much power, the new car also provides "[b]etter fuel economy than the 2013 Corvette." By the way, that 2013 C6 Corvette was rated at 430 horsepower, 424 poundfeet of torque, and 16 miles per gallon in town or 26 on the highway. This new C7 Stingray is both more powerful and more efficient. Juechter and his team anticipate a highway fuel-economy rating of 29 miles per gallon. |
