Little did they know that the car they would create-one that was never intended to go racing-would claim an unexpected victory in an epic installment of the world's greatest motor race.

"We never set out to build a racing car when we designed the F1. It was pretty incredible to-in effect-put a rear wing on it, go racing and win. If someone gave me the brief again I'd do it the same, even the styling."
