Styling American Motors Corporation
I don't think I've ever mentioned the fact that I'm an honorary member of the American Motors Styling Department. This great mark of honor was bestowed upon me a couple of years ago by my good friends in AMC Styling and I value it every bit as much as I value the Lee A Iacocca Award that I won the same year. They inducted me into the Styling Department because of the numerous articles I've written about AMC Styling and its designers.

One aspect of AMC styling that I really enjoy writing about is the many concept and prototype cars the designers proposed over the years. These are the so-called "Cars That Might Have Been". Some only went so far as sketches or drawings, others made it to quarter scale (or smaller) clay models and the very best were made either into full-size mock-ups or as concept cars that were shown to the public at auto shows and consumer clinics. In my new book
American Motors Corporation, The Rise and Fall of America's Last Independent Automaker you'll see many such cars pictured. These photos all came from my AMC Archive, which contains more than 12,000 AMC factory and press images.

The stories and images alone make
Porsche 911: 50 Years the essential book in any Porsche enthusiast's library. But this limited-edition version takes the book to another level. A specially designed presentation box ensures the pristine condition of the book for years to come. We have also included a hand-picked gallery of gorgeous 911 art prints, exclusive to the owner of this edition and perfect for framing and displaying. And by limiting the release to only 600 copies, we guarantee that the only thing rarer than your special edition of Porsche 911: 50 Years is that elusive all-wheel-drive 959.

The book would make a fantastic holiday gift, so order today while there are still copies left. With special Motorbooks.com pricing, the $150 Porsche 911: 50 Years - Special Edition is just $112.50.
