Install a LED Brake Light Bar
Tracy Martin, author of How to Troubleshoot, Repair, and Modify Motorcycle Electrical Systems, shares a quick (less than 2 hours) and relatively cheap (less than $40) way to up your safety on the road, day and night.

Whenever you pull up and stop at a traffic light in heavy traffic you should be looking to see if the car or truck behind you is going to do the same. If you don't give this much thought you should reconsider riding in traffic or even at all. Rear-end collisions that involve motorcycles can be minor, amounting to a tipover, or much worse. You might think, "That's why I have a brake light," but can that driver behind you see it? At night most motorcycle brake lights are readily visible but what about during the day - especially in bright sunlight? The Electrical Connection 3rd Brake Light offers an LED brake light bar that addresses the visibility problem nicely. LED lighting used for brake lights falls into three brightness categories: normal, pretty bright, and "I'm seeing red dots and my eyes hurt." The EC 3rd Brake Light is in the latter category. In addition to serving as a brake light, it can act as a running light as well.

For the quality, the EC 3rd Brake Light with running light option is a bargain at about $35. It's easy to install (takes about one and a half hours) and it attracts the right kind of attention on the road. All of the Electrical Connection's products are quality and assembled in the United States. The Electrical Connection also makes a plug-and-play wiring harness for Honda GL 1500 and 1800 Gold Wings as well as other lighting and wiring products for a variety of motorcycles.

Our Favorite New Title for August
This book hasn't quite made it to our warehouse yet, but I saw advance copies earlier this week and I'm still drooling. This week's sale is perfectly timed for you to order this book at a savings ... and get it before your friends do.

From the original Shelby Mustang GT350 to today's 700-plus horsepower GT500, Carroll Shelby and Ford Motor Co. have defined high-performance with their Shelby Mustangs. Shelby built his Mustangs from 1965 until 1970, at a time when it seemed that the muscle car was a dying breed. Then an odd thing happened - people began to realize the classic nature of the car almost as soon as Shelby stopped building it and prices began to climb. By the end of the decade, the Shelby Mustang had become one of the first muscle cars to attain classic status, along with the price hike that went along with that recognition. Prices continued to rise into the next century; a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 fetched $451,000 at auction in 2006, at which time production of new Shelby Mustangs began for the first time in 36 years. Since then prices have cooled a bit, but not nearly as much as they have for other muscle cars; Shelby Mustangs still occupy the top slot at most auctions and Shelby continues to build the popular modern versions of the Mustang today.

Shelby Mustang: Fifty Years, lavishly illustrated with rare historic photography and modern color images, tells the story of these amazing cars, from the initial collaboration with Ford to today's record-setting high-tech muscle cars.
