I was an impressionable, car-crazy 11 year-old when the first Mustang commercials appeared on network TV on April 16, 1964. Unaware that this new car from Ford was little more than a Falcon make-over, I admired the sporty looks and bucket seats with floor shifter. As I grew older, I matured right along with the Mustang, which evolved into a full-blown musclecar.
